The Denmark international took to Instagram to pay tribute to 'the most important person' in her life and sadly revealed her mother was 'killed by a truck'.

Nadim, who has played for Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, was part of ITV's punditry team for Denmark's 0-0 World Cup opener against Tunisia.
However, she wasn't present in the studio once the game had finished, with ITV confirming she had to leave early.

Now Nadim has revealed the horrifying circumstances which caused her abrupt departure.
Writing on Instagram, she said: "Tuesday morning my Mother was killed by a truck. She was on her way back from the gym.
"Words can not describe what I'm feeling. I have lost the most important person in my life and it happened so sudden and unexpected. She was only 57.
"She was a warrior who had fought for every inch of her life. She didn't give me life once but twice, and everything we are is because of her. I have lost my home and I know nothing's gonna ever feel the same.

"Life is unfair and I don't understand why her and why this way. I love you and I will see you again.
"Her funeral is gonna be soon, (more information to follow). Please come and show her the love, respect and prayers she deserves."
Nadim was born in Afghanistan but was forced to flee with her mother and family after her father was killed by the Taliban in 2000.

Arriving in Denmark aged 11, she went on to become one of the country's greatest footballers with over 100 caps, and has enormous respect for her activities off the pitch.
The 34-year-old speaks eight different languages and qualified as a doctor earlier this year, and hopes to become a surgeon after retiring from football.
