Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have enjoyed a wonderful start to the new season after winning four of their opening five matches in the Premier League, however the chance to win a domestic cup will certainly be something that they'll be keen to pursue.
As expected, the Norwegian rotated his squad, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo being given a rest while a number of the younger players have been given a run out.
One of them is Anthony Elanga, who was brought on in the 72nd minute to try and help the Red Devils find an equaliser.
But what do we know about the attacking talent? talkSPORT.com takes a look.
Anthony Elanga: Profile
Born on April 27, 2002 the Swedish starlet began his football journey within the youth set-ups with IF Elfsborg and Malmo FF.
Elanga made the move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2018 as a promising starlet with plenty to offer in the years to come.
Manchester United fans may just be about to see what the winger has to offer.
Anthony Elanga: Manchester United career to date
The 19-year-old has certainly made an impression since moving to the club over three years ago.
Elanga was a hugely exciting talent in the under-18s and under-23 side and contributed three goal involvements in last season's EFL Trophy.
The forward was then handed his senior Manchester United debut against Leicester City in the Premier League last term, before scoring his first goal for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's side in the victory over Wolves in the final game of last term.
Anthony Elanga: What has been said?
Discussing his plans for Elanga during pre-season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: "It would be easy to say the boy should go on loan, but he's doing so well.
"He's electric, his pace, his skill, he's not afraid of anything and he's got the courage and the bravery of a Man United player and today he created chances for others and himself, and scored a good goal with his most difficult opportunity.
"I wouldn't be surprised if he was staying here. It depends, we know it's important for him to develop and get game-time, at the moment he's one of them we've not really decided on.
"If he keeps on like he is I might want to keep him."
Speaking ahead of the clash with West Ham, Solskjaer added: "Anthony was terrific in pre-season - his attitude, his enthusiasm, his directness. I love to see players like this.
"He was disappointed not to travel down to West Ham [for Sunday's Premier League game] but he scored for the Under-23s and now he's ready. He'll be involved in the squad."
Anthony Elanga: What does the future hold?
It certainly seems that the 19-year-old has an incredibly bright future ahead of him at Old Trafford.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer clearly rates the forward and that's why he's being integrated into the first team fold this season.
He's certainly a star for the future but it wouldn't be a surprise to see the player heading out on loan before too long given the enviable attacking talent in the first team squad right now.
