But apart from those games, it's been slim pickings for Newcastle fans.

The Toon are winless in their last nine matches against Sunderland, which includes a run of six consecutive victories for the Black Cats from April 2013 to October 2015.

Of course, this is the first Tyne-Wear derby since the 2015/16 season because both clubs have spent time in the EFL.

In 2016, the Toon were relegated to the Championship but were promoted the following season, while the Black Cats went down and even ended up in League One.

They are now back in the Championship, pushing for promotion, while the Magpies will be hoping to turn around their season.

However, on Saturday, none of that matters as Newcastle and Sunderland do battle once more.
