talkSPORT's in-ground correspondent David Tanner described the scenes as "utter madness," with the game later resuming after a lengthy delay.
"The game had a five minute delay in restarting," Tanner explained.
"Joe Hart complained that something had been thrown at him and it turned out that it was a beer bottle.
"About 20 Rangers staff had to go on and pick up all the shards of glass, hopefully all the shards of glass, from in and around the six yard box - utter madness."
