They went into the break 2-0 up against Ghana with Giorgian de Arrascaeta grabbing both after Andre Ayew missed a penalty in the Group H clash.

However, De Arrascaeta was perhaps fortunate to still be on the pitch.
The forward appeared to stamp on Alidu Seidu when the ball was well out of the way.
VAR did not ask the referee to go and look at the incident again. Either they had failed to spot it, or deemed it did not reach the threshold for a clear and obvious error.

But talkSPORT commentator Micky Gray felt differently, and said: "This is going to get out of hand if VAR look at this, that was a stamp.
"It doesn't look like it will, but that's a surprise to me."
That failure to intervene in the challenge could of course have implications on who qualifies for the World Cup knockout stages.

Ghana needed just a draw to qualify for the last-16, as long as South Korea do not beat Portugal.
Uruguay needed to beat Ghana, which they are currently doing, and again hope already qualified Portugal can at least hold South Korea.
