Tuesday's international friendlies predictions including Germany vs. Belgium

sportsmole.co.uk, 28 March 2023, 05:05
Chile vs. Paraguay (Tuesday, 1.30am)

Chile have a chance to end their five-match winless run when hosting Paraguay on Monday at Estadio Monumental David Arellano in what will be their first home fixture in nearly a year.

La Roja finished fourth at the Kirin Cup last summer, while the Paraguayans are carrying a three-match unbeaten run heading into this encounter, defeating the United Arab Emirates 1-0 in a friendly played in Austria last June.

We say: Chile 1-0 Paraguay

La Rojas may not be the dominant South American team we saw a few years ago, but there are still some quality individuals who have proven to be difference-makers, and we believe the likes of Sanchez and Vidal will be able to outclass La Albirroja who are far less experienced.

Australia vs. Ecuador (Tuesday, 9.30am)

Ecuador will be aiming to avenge their recent defeat to Australia when the two sides face each other in another international friendly match on Tuesday.

The Socceroos ran out 3-1 winners at the CommBank Stadium on Friday, as both teams look to build towards the future.

We say: Australia 1-2 Ecuador

Ecuador are likely to be the more motivated team after losing the first match on Friday, and we can envisage them bouncing back with a victory as a result.

Australia rode their luck at times during the initial encounter, with Sanchez hoping to turn his team's dominant possession into a higher amount of clear cut chances.

Japan vs. Colombia (Tuesday, 11.20am)

Two teams searching for their first victory of the year will square off on Tuesday at Yodoko Sakura Stadium in Osaka as Japan play host to Colombia in the Kirin Challenge Cup.

Japan came back to draw Uruguay 1-1 on Friday, while La Tricolor erased a two-goal deficit, playing South Korea to a 2-2 tie.

We say: Japan 1-1 Colombia

Both teams are in good form with creative players and plenty of quality, so we expect there to be chances at both ends in what promises to be an even game, and given the fighting spirit of each, we will call this one an even draw.

South Korea vs. Uruguay (Tuesday, 12.00pm)

South Korea are set to renew acquaintances with Uruguay when they meet at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in an international friendly on Tuesday night.

The two countries last squared off in the group stage of the 2022 World Cup, drawing 0-0 at the Education City Stadium in Qatar.

We say: South Korea 1-1 Uruguay

There was very little separating the two nations at the World Cup, with South Korea finishing higher in the group by goals scored alone, and so we expect a closely-contested match.

Both teams drew in their most recent outing, and given that they are very evenly-matched, a similar result is likely on Tuesday night.

Armenia vs. Cyprus (Tuesday, 4.00pm)

Armenia face off against Cyprus in an international friendly in Yerevan on Tuesday night, with both nations looking to bounce back after making a poor start to their Euro 2024 qualification campaign.

Tuesday's hosts were defeated 2-1 by Turkey on Saturday afternoon, while the visitors were on the receiving end of a 3-0 loss against Scotland.

We say: Armenia 1-1 Cyprus

Despite the disappointing defeat against Scotland last time out, Cyprus are showing signs of progression under the helm of Ketsbaia, and it would not be a surprise if the manager oversees a positive result on Tuesday, given the recent victory against Israel.

Armenia are the favourites on paper, but they have been in poor form of late, still without a win since early June, and so we expect the two nations to play out a draw.

Uzbekistan vs. Venezuela (Tuesday, 7.00pm)

Uzbekistan and Venezuela will meet for the first time on the international stage at King Abdullah Sports Stadium in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

They each won their first matches of 2023 last Friday, with the White Wolves edging Bolivia 1-0, while La Vinotinto got past Saudi Arabia 2-1.

We say: Uzbekistan 0-1 Venezuela

The White Wolves have been the aggressors in most of their recent matches, but outside of Shomurodov, we do not believe there is as much overall goalscoring quality when compared to their opponents.

On the other hand, the Venezuelans have proven to be a sharp defensive unit that can sustain their share of pressure, while their attacking depth should give them a slight edge in this contest.

Germany vs. Belgium (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

A friendly clash of the titans takes place at the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne on Tuesday evening, as Germany pit their wits against Belgium.

Die Mannschaft ran out 2-0 winners over Peru in Saturday's exhibition encounter, while Domenico Tedesco's Belgium reign began with a 3-0 success over Sweden in Euro 2024 qualifying.

We say: Germany 2-2 Belgium

Neither Flick nor Tedesco will lose sleep over the result of Tuesday's friendly, where avoiding injury may be the overriding goal for both sets of players before the resumption of their domestic campaigns.

An exciting encounter should still be on the menu between two sides with plenty to prove, but we are finding it nigh-on impossible to separate the European foes this time around.

Saudi Arabia vs. Bolivia (Tuesday, 8.00pm)

In search of their first victory in over a year, Bolivia head to Prince Abdullah Al Fasal Stadium for a date with Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

Last Friday, the Green Falcons dropped their third match of the year, falling 2-1 to Venezuela, while La Verde were shut out 1-0 by Uzbekistan for their third successive defeat.

We say: Saudi Arabia 1-0 Bolivia

The Bolivians have been a little sharper on the defensive end since Costas took over, but they have not shown to be creative on the ball, so we anticipate the overall quality of the Green Falcons will get the better of them on Tuesday, while possibly sending their manager off on a winning note.

Morocco vs. Peru (Tuesday, 8.30pm)

On Tuesday, Morocco will play their final friendly before resuming their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign when they battle Peru at the Civitas Metropolitan Stadium in Madrid.

In their first fixture since the World Cup, the Atlas Lions shocked Brazil 2-1 on Saturday, while the Peruvians saw their three-match-unbeaten run end, falling 2-0 to Germany.

We say: Morocco 1-1 Peru

Fresh off another emotional high, we would not be surprised to see a slight letdown from the Moroccans in this match, particularly given that they do not have much to play for until the African Cup of Nations commences next January.

Peru, meanwhile, are a strong and formidable squad who, like Morocco, have lots of solid continuity and strength, and we expect them to present a formidable challenge to the Atlas Lions on Tuesday.

Argentina vs. Curacao (Wednesday, 12.30am)

With the party atmosphere in Argentina still well and truly alive, the world champions round off their March homecoming with a friendly against Curacao on Tuesday.

Lionel Scaloni's side defeated Panama 2-0 on a night of celebration at the weekend, while the visitors to Santiago del Estero lost 2-0 to Canada in a CONCACAF Nations League showdown.

We say: Argentina 3-0 Curacao

With plenty of fringe and uncapped players hoping to stamp their authority on the Argentina team, Scaloni should keep a plethora of his big-hitters in reserve - not that it would make any difference to the overall result.

Argentina took a while to get going against Panama, but Curacao have been conceding goals at will, and the Albiceleste jubilation should continue with a straightforward friendly triumph.
