Fortaleza vs. Libertad (Tuesday, 11.00pm)
Fortaleza can advance to the quarter-finals of the Copa Sudamericana for the first time with a win or draw on Tuesday when they battle Club Libertad in the second leg of that round of 16 clash at the Castelao.
At the beginning of August, Leao do Pici defeated the Paraguayans 1-0, making this a must win encounter for Libertad if they are to advance beyond this stage of the competition for the second time in three years.
We say: Fortaleza 1-0 Club Libertad (Fortaleza to win 2-0 on aggregate)
Their style may be a little more conservative than we are used to, but there is no denying this Fortaleza squad are committed to defending and have done it effectively.
We expect them to frustrate the Paraguayans again this week and catch them on the break, a strategy which has worked out well for the Brazilians throughout this tournament.
Defensa vs. Emelec (Wednesday, 1.00am)
The round of 16 in the Copa Sudamericana will come to a conclusion this week, and Defensa y Justicia will be hoping to progress to the last eight when they face Emelec in their second leg encounter on Wednesday.
The hosts currently hold a one-goal lead after securing a 2-1 win at Estadio George Capwell last week, and if they are able to hold on to that lead, they will book their place in the next round against either Botafogo or Guarani.
We say: Defensa y Justicia 1-0 Emelec
The hosts were dominant in the first leg and were rarely troubled, aside from the early goal they conceded. They will likely look to get an early goal themselves in this one, which will put them firmly in the driver's seat, and we can see them sitting back thereafter and seeing out the match by shutting out their opponents.
Newell's OB vs. Corinthians (Wednesday, 1.30am)
Newell's Old Boys will be looking to overturn a first-leg deficit when they face Corinthians in the second leg of the round of 16 in the Copa Sudamericana at Estadio Marcelo Alberto Bielsa on Wednesday.
The Brazilians currently lead the tie by one goal after securing a 2-1 win last week, and if they are able to hold on to their lead, they will likely face Estudiantes in the quarter-final, who currently lead Goias 3-0 after the first leg.
We say: Newell's Old Boys 1-1 Corinthians
While Corinthians did manage to secure a crucial home win in the first leg, they were far from convincing and could find themselves in a very closely-contested battle in this one.
We expect the Argentine side to find the net at least once in the match, but the visitors should make it through to the next round, albeit by a very slender margin.
