Given their issues with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability regulations last season, which led to two separate points deductions, it is accepted that the Toffees must make sales during the summer transfer window.
However, with players having already departed on free transfers, Sean Dyche requires alternatives, with a youngster from Villa seemingly on his radar.
According to Football Insider, the Merseyside outfit have managed to agree terms over the signing of Iroegbunam.
While the 20-year-old was used regularly during the run-in, he would make just two starts and 13 substitute outings in all competitions during 2023-24.
With Villa also needing to comply with financial regulations, it is alleged that they have accepted a proposal worth £10m.
Southampton want Ings reunion
Meanwhile, newly-promoted Southampton are reportedly exploring the possibility of a reunion with Danny Ings.
Between 2018 and 2020, Ings scored 41 goals from 91 appearances for the Saints in the Premier League, establishing himself as one of their best-ever frontmen in the division.
Since then, though, the England international has not been able to replicate that form at Aston Villa or West Ham United, and it is accepted that he is available for transfer.
As per the Daily Mail, Southampton have enquired over what it will require to re-sign the 31-year-old.
The Saints have already welcomed former playmaker Adam Lallana back to St Mary's, with more experience from the likes of Ings now seemingly craved by Russell Martin.
Southampton are said to be willing to pay up to £6m for Ings, who has just one year remaining on his contract at the London Stadium.
Perraud close to Southampton exit
There will also be outgoings at Southampton and it appears that Romain Perraud will be ending his association with the South-coast outfit.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the left-sided defender is on the brink of signing for Real Betis in a deal worth slightly more than €3m (£2.53m).
Between 2021 and 2023, Perraud would make 60 appearances for Southampton, chipping in with five goals, but he left on loan on the back of their relegation to the Championship.
The 26-year-old was part of a Nice side that finished in fifth place in Ligue 1, although he only made two starts, his other 17 outings coming from the substitutes' bench.
Betis were able to secure seventh position in the La Liga standings, earning Europa Conference League football for next season.
