Top ten players with highest combined transfer fees with Mbappe set to top list

Mega-money deals are now the norm in the elite football and this summer has seen yet more huge transfers completed.

Jack Grealish became the most expensive player in Premier League history by sealing his £100million move from Aston Villa to Manchester City.

Romelu Lukaku's £97m return to Chelsea soon after meant the Belgian briefly overtook Neymar as the costliest player in cumulative fees.

But Neymar's Paris Saint-Germain teammate Kylian Mbappe will take that honour when he seals his £160m switch to Real Madrid.

This top ten totals well over £1.6BILLION but there are plenty of failed moves among the big-money deals.

Alvaro Morata at Chelsea and Angel di Maria at Manchester United are just some of the moves that didn't quite pay off.

Mbappe will be hoping his Madrid move will be far more successful.
