The Reds midfielder is adored for his magic in midfield and his joyous character off the pitch, and his gesture before his side's Champions League group stage clash against Napoli on Tuesday hasn't gone unnoticed.

Liverpool took on Napoli in what was a cold and drizzly night at Anfield, and as the two teams lined up on the pitch, ready for the famous Champions League anthem to be played, the young mascots along with them were feeling the effects of the chilly weather.

This prompted Thiago to remove his pre-match jacket and wrap it around one of the children in front of him to protect her from the cold.
It's not the first time he's done this, either - earlier in the season, he did the same before a Champions League match against Rangers.
The mascots around them really appreciated the gesture and it was evident through their reaction, with some of them smiling with a clear show of delight at what the Spaniard had just done.
It's this kind of empathy that has made Thiago such an adored figure over the last two years in Merseyside since arriving from Bayern Munich.

After the gesture, Thiago put in a masterful performance against the Italian visitors as Liverpool ran out 2-0 winners to wrap up their group stage campaign.

The Reds will have to wait until Monday to find out who they play in the last 16 of the competition.
Jurgen Klopp's side haven't had the best start to the Premier League season as they sit in ninth, having won just four of their 12 matches, and will be hoping this result provides a boost to their hopes for the rest of the campaign.

There are four possible opponents for Liverpool in the Champions League: holders Real Madrid, German champions Bayern Munich, Portuguese champions Porto or runners-up Benfica.
