Ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the 70-year-old insisted he had no agenda against the England international after labelling him as a 'good, not great' player.
He subsequently stated he would love to have a night out with the ex-Aston Villa skipper, which Grealish accepted on social media.
Grealish then stressed he wanted to bring along Paul Pogba - a victim of Souness' tirades in the past - with the Scotsman more than happy to share an evening with the pair, as long as the treble winner footed the bill.
Speaking on the White and Jordan show, Souness was asked about an update on his potential dinner with Grealish, to which he said: "He offered, and I'm still waiting.
"I think what killed him, I said in my [Daily Mail] column that I only drink expensive wines. I've heard nothing."

Graeme Souness has four-word message for Virgl van Dijk after Man United complaints
Recently, Souness has been critical of Grealish's goal return, believing a player of his quality has to be producing better numbers.
It was only a fortnight ago that the Three Lions winger was told by the ex-Blackburn boss that he has 'flattered to deceive' at the Etihad.
But with three goals in his last three Premier League outings, Souness has declared he hopes Grealish can maintain his form to keep proving him wrong.
He stated: "Are players today beyond any criticism, any suggestion that maybe they can improve areas of their game?

Graeme Souness says English teams Arsenal and Manchester City are the favourites for the Champions League this season
"It was factually correct and now he's scoring goals, and long may it continue for him, and at the end of the season, he can get into double figures.
"And the challenge for him after that - before sticking two fingers up to me - is to do it again next year, and then the next year."
Souness then concluded by saying: "Jack Grealish has to be scoring ten goals every year until he retires.
"And then we can have a conversation then, not three goals in the last three weeks."
