Amrabat has found himself in the spotlight since the start of the 2022 World Cup, initially starring for Morocco as they reached the semi-finals in Qatar.
The 26-year-old was naturally linked with a number of big clubs after his performances for the Atlas Lions, yet Fiorentina held firm to retain the services of one of their key men.
That led to the Italian outfit reaching the finals of the Coppa Italia and Europa Conference League, losing on each occasion to Inter Milan and West Ham United respectively.
With Fiorentina possessing the option to extend his contract by an extra 12 months, Amrabat is effectively tied to the club until 2025, but a transfer is expected during the current transfer window.
While Barcelona have been credited as admirers in his abilities, brother Nordin Amrabat has hinted that a switch to Manchester United could be a possibility over the coming weeks.
Speaking to ESPN, Nordin said: "He wants to go to the top, you are not going to trade Italy for the middle bracket of the Premier League.
"At Barcelona, he is high on the list but you know Barca's financial situation. Of course you never know, it will be a strong competition when you see which names are going. But my brother now has the intention to play in the top, preferably in Spain or England, I think.
"Ten Hag is now looking for a striker, he wants that first. From there he will see what is possible. But I know that Ten Hag is charmed by my brother, he broke through under him and they have a good relationship, so who knows."
At the beginning of his career, Amrabat contributed one goal and 10 assists in 54 outings for FC Utrecht, earning a transfer to Feyenoord before his later moves to Club Brugge, Hellas Verona and Fiorentina.
Ten Hag was at Utrecht during the final two years of Amrabat's stay at Stadion Galgenwaard, and the link could prove significant this summer.
The Dutchman is said to be in the market for a new central midfielder, with an alternative required if United miss out on top target Declan Rice who may leave West Ham for Arsenal.
Scott McTominay has been linked with an exit from Old Trafford, while Fred has recently acknowledged that he wants to be regarded as an 'important player' next season after dropping down the pecking order since Ten Hag's arrival.
