Fans knew that they needed to be behind their team from start to finish and as a result, Hillsborough was bouncing from the off.
The second leg got off to the perfect start as Michael Smith converted from the spot after nine minutes, while Lee Gregory made it 2-0 to Wednesday after 25 minutes.
Peterborough were able to organise themselves and kept the Owls out for around 45 minutes, however Reece James' goal after 71 minutes set up a nervy ending for the Posh who knew that Sheffield Wednesday were a goal away from leveling the tie.
Moore's side pushed everybody forward as the game moved into six minutes of injury time, however Peterborough looked to be holding firm.
