This year's summer transfer window saw multiple star names make landmark moves including Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
The Argentine superstar was far from the only player to join Paris Saint-Germain, where goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum and full-backs Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes were among the arrivals in a busy summer.
Yet one of the most remarkable deals of the summer saw one of the most decorated players in the history of football join Les Parisiens as a free agent in a surprisingly low-key move.
Sergio Ramos ended his 16-year association with Real Madrid this year and moved to the French capital as a free agent, in a huge move that became somewhat overshadowed by others.

The talismanic defender won an astonishing 22 trophies during his time at Los Blancos including five La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies, scoring a remarkable 101 goals in that timeframe.
His contract expired this summer with a drawn-out saga between club and player, as a protracted game of chess was played out in the media with Ramos refusing to give in to a one-year contract on reduced terms.
Whilst it was expected that the two parties would find some form of middle ground, this did not materialise and by the time Ramos ceded ground to signal his willingness to sign a new contract - the club had withdrawn it due to the timeframe.
Perhaps things would have been different had the defender not been in the midst of fitness problems; aged 35, the club were reluctant to commit to a longer-term deal and his multiple injury setbacks severely weakened the player's negotiating position.
Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos have linked up as teammates after spending 16 years as rivals
Ramos has played just five clubs matches this calendar year and just once domestically since January with each return bringing a fresh setback.
There were more problems in the March international break when Ramos twice played for Spain during World Cup qualifiers but the second match was somewhat of a farce, with the defender introduced for the final four minutes of a comfortable win over Kosovo.
Ramos picked up a muscular injury in his cameo appearance, which brought him up to 180 international caps - the most of any European player ever, but there was criticism that his appearance was solely with his caps total in mind and was counter-productive.
Indeed, Ramos has yet to play back-to-back matches since that brief outing and was excluded from Luis Enrique's Spain squad for the European Championships and has not featured for the international side since.
That means that his international appearance record has been eclipsed by his former Real Madrid teammate Ronaldo, who is now on 182 international caps and counting.

Ramos penned a two-year contract at PSG after leaving Madrid and missing out on the European Championships but has yet to play a game for his new club.
It has led to inevitable questions over the long-term future of the 35-year-old, who has struggled to re-find fitness in nine months and has clocked up 942 appearances in his senior career.
PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino provided a fitness update on Ramos in an interview with Spanish radio this week.
Pochettino said: "Unfortunately Ramos has not yet started training with the group, but he is close. Hopefully it will be as soon as possible.
"We are happy with the progression.
"He is a great champion, and nobody is going to doubt his competitive quality and his football talent.
"He is not having a good time, but he is strong."
Ramos is not having a good time and he will be acutely aware that he may be running out of time to shake off his injury nightmare and get back to full fitness.
The defender has continued to defy critics and show his relentless mentality over his career but if he can bounce back to re-appear for club and country, it may be his greatest achievement yet.
