Schmeichel smiles as Carragher and Richards sing to him after Man United's loss

Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards were at it again.

This time it was Peter Schmeichel who was their target following his old side's Champions League exit.

Manchester United lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich at Old Trafford, and with Copenhagen beating Galatasaray, Erik ten Hag's side ended up fourth in their group.

That means that the Red Devils missed out on the Europa League too, leaving fans with nothing to be happy about ahead of a trip to Anfield to face rivals Liverpool.

Club legend Schmeichel was one of those left gutted by the result, and he didn't get a breather while on duty for CBS at Old Trafford.

Returning to his interview booth after another disappointing result, the great Dane then had to deal with Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards belting out 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life' at him.

Thierry Henry had to cover his face at the cringeworthy antics, while Schmeichel just smiled along.

"What can I say," he commented. "It's not a lot of fun here at Old Trafford, for sure."

Schmeichel, one of football's greatest ever goalkeepers, had to endure a painful campaign from United while he covered their European exploits for the US audience.

The defence were a far-cry from his playing days under Alex Ferguson, conceding 15 goals in six games, the highest-ever total for an English team in the group stages.
