NY City vs. NY Red Bulls (Saturday, 6.00pm)
New York City FC have an opportunity to their capture their second MLS regular season series against the New York Red Bulls since 2020 when they host their arch-rivals in the final Hudson River Derby of 2022 on Saturday at Yankee Stadium.
The defending league champions are winless in their previous five domestic encounters, while their opponents from New Jersey have points in five of their last six MLS matches and have clinched a postseason berth for a record 13th consecutive campaign.
We say: New York City FC 1-0 New York Red Bulls
Momentum may not be on the side of the reigning MLS champs right now in the domestic campaign, but it looked like they gained a lot of confidence from their Campeones Cup triumph in midweek, and we believe they will be able to carry that form into this weekend.
After clinching a playoff berth, we expect the Red Bulls might be a little complacent in this one, knowing that they have some breathing room in the Eastern Conference table.
Atlanta vs. Philadelphia (Saturday, 8.30pm)
Philadelphia Union will continue to push in an attempt to win the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference this weekend when they travel to face Atlanta United.
Both teams have plenty to play for though with the visitors sitting just outside of the playoff positions right now, with a victory potentially taking them there.
We say: Atlanta United 1-2 Philadelphia Union
This is sure to be a competitive encounter between two teams in fine form who have got a lot to play for towards the end of the season.
However, Philadelphia Union's ability in front of goal is something that could prove to be the difference maker in this particular match.
New England vs. Montreal (Sunday, 12.30am)
Two teams at opposite ends of the Major League Soccer Western Conference will meet this weekend when CF Montreal make the journey to face New England Revolution.
The visitors are pushing to try and win the division in their final few games, meanwhile the Revs are currently sat in midtable heading into this one.
We say: New England Revolution 1-2 CF Montreal
This is set to be a closely fought game due to the fact both teams still have a lot to play for as the season draws to a close.
However, CF Montreal boast a lot more momentum in recent times, and that could end up being enough to carry them through this particular fixture.
Orlando City vs. Toronto (Sunday, 12.30am)
The playoff hopes for Toronto will hang in the balance on Saturday when they travel to Exploria Stadium to face Orlando City.
A defeat for them this weekend or a victory by the Columbus Crew would spell the end of the Reds' postseason aspirations, while a win or draw for the Lions would assure they remain above the Eastern Conference playoff line of Major League Soccer.
We say: Orlando City 2-1 Toronto
There may be more clinical finishers on the TFC side when compared to Orlando, but Toronto leave too many gaps in their third of the field and rely a little too heavily on their Italians to carry them through.
Chicago Fire vs. Charlotte FC (Sunday, 1.00am)
Two teams battling in the bottom half of the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference will meet this weekend as Chicago Fire hosts Charlotte FC in their latest fixture.
The hosts head into this game on the back of a defeat against CF Montreal while their opponents were able to secure three points in midweek.
We say: Chicago Fire 1-2 Charlotte FC
The fact that these two teams are joint on points in the league table showcases that there is not going to be much to separate them at the weekend.
Charlotte has some momentum behind them though, and that could lead to them having the confidence to secure all three points in this match.
Kansas vs. Minnesota Utd (Sunday, 1.30am)
Sporting Kansas City head into Saturday in a must-win scenario if they have any hopes of keeping their playoff dreams alive this season in the Major League Soccer Western Conference.
The squad will welcome Minnesota United, who currently occupy one of the top seven places, but they are also coming off the back of a four-match run without a win.
We say: Sporting Kansas City 2-0 Minnesota United
Minnesota United might be considered the favourites heading into this match purely because of their league positioning, but the fact remains that the hosts are in much stronger form.
Sporting Kansas City have been picking up consistent results as of late, which is the complete opposite of the visitors, and that momentum could see them through here.
Austin vs. Nashville (Sunday, 2.00am)
After beating Real Salt Lake in midweek to end a run of three consecutive defeats, Austin FC will attempt to clinch consecutive victories when they face Nashville SC on Saturday for the second time this month.
The visitors, meanwhile, are looking to extend their unbeaten run to six matches as they bid to enter the playoffs in a positive run of form.
We say: Austin FC 2-2 Nashville SC
Although Nashville won 3-0 when the two sides met at the start of the month, Austin will have home advantage in their favour this time around, and we think that the hosts will be able to hold their in-form opponents to a point.
Salt Lake vs. Cincinnati (Sunday, 2.30am)
Two sides looking to clinch MLS playoff places will face off on Saturday when Real Salt Lake welcome FC Cincinnati to American First Field.
The hosts currently sit in seventh position in the Western Conference, while sixth place in the Eastern Conference is occupied by Cincinnati.
We say: Real Salt Lake 1-1 FC Cincinnati
Real Salt Lake have drawn two of their previous three home games, while Cincinnati's last away games have ended all square and as a result, we think the two sides will play out a draw on Saturday.
Vancouver vs. Seattle (Sunday, 3.00am)
It is getting down to crunch time for the Vancouver Whitecaps and Seattle Sounders, who face each other for the final time in the 2022 MLS regular season on Saturday at BC Place Stadium.
Vancouver kept their postseason hopes alive with a 3-0 triumph over the Los Angeles Galaxy in midweek, while the Rave Green have won back-to-back encounters, currently sitting four points behind the Western Conference playoff line with a game in hand on Real Salt Lake.
We say: Vancouver Whitecaps 1-1 Seattle Sounders
There is a lot is riding on this match for these two rivals who are desperate to get back above the playoff line, and with so much at stake, we anticipate both sides will hang back and be more concerned about not conceding, rather than taking chances going forward.
Earthquakes vs. Dallas (Sunday, 3.30am)
San Jose Earthquakes will look to bounce back from consecutive MLS defeats when they play host to Dallas on Saturday.
While the home side are rooted to the foot of the Western Conference, Dallas are set to participate in the playoffs
We say: San Jose Earthquakes 1-2 Dallas
After losing three of their last four matches, we think that San Jose will fail to take anything from Saturday's meeting with a Dallas side, who are looking for a third consecutive victory.
LA Galaxy vs. Colorado (Sunday, 3.30am)
The Los Angeles Galaxy have four matches remaining to try and climb back into a playoff position in the MLS Western Conference as they host the Colorado Rapids at Dignity Health Sports Park on Saturday.
LA trail Real Salt Lake by three points for the final postseason position and are winless in four consecutive games, while the Rapids are just a point behind them, having won their previous two fixtures.
We say: Los Angeles Galaxy 1-2 Colorado Rapids
Conventional wisdom would suggest that the Galaxy should win this game given their superior quality on paper when compared to the Rapids, not to mention how poor the Burgundy Boys have been defensively on the road.
However, Colorado seem to be finding their groove and growing in confidence, which is the opposite for the Galaxy, who make it far too easy for opposing teams to penetrate their defence of a consistent basis.
