Saturday's Argentine Primera Division predictions including River Plate vs. Lanus

Talleres vs. C. Cordoba (Saturday, 7.30pm)

Talleres and Central Cordoba will square off on Saturday, having both made slow starts to the Argentine Primera Division season.

Both teams sit on four points from four games, with the hosts three places better off than their opponents thanks to a superior goal difference.

Both sides will be desperate to improve on their starts, but we see Talleres having slightly more quality in their squad and expect them to take all three points on home turf.

Defensa vs. Velez Sarsfield (Saturday, 7.30pm)

Having both made relatively slow starts to the Argentine Primera Division campaign, Defensa y Justicia and Velez Sarsfield will do battle on Saturday.

Winless in their opening four games, the hosts currently sit 26th in a tight bottom half, while their visitors are only a point better off after a first victory last time out.

Defensa y Justicia have certainly struggled so are and things look to only be getting worse.

Newell's Old Boys shall be attempting to continue their undefeated start to the second phase of the Argentine Primera Division on Saturday when they travel to face Estudiantes.

The hosts suffered their first loss of this section of the campaign in their most recent outing, which they will be looking to put right against the current league leaders.

These are two teams that have a chance to earn some silverware this season, which will no doubt provide a big motivation heading into this fixture.

Colon are able to boast the home advantage for this particular fixture, and their fans will have a huge role to play in trying to cheer their team on to better results than they have seen to this point of the season.

River Plate vs. Lanus (Sunday, 12.30am)

River Plate and Lanus will face off on Saturday, with both sides in a positive mood after clinching their first wins of the season last weekend.

Lanus got the better of Colon via a narrow 1-0 scoreline, while River Plate thrashed Union Santa Fe 5-1 to move themselves up to 14th place in the Primera Division table.

We say: River Plate 3-1 Lanus

Although the two sides are currently level on points, we believe River Plate will have the upper hand over their opponents after winning the last three meetings against Lanus, and we think they will continue that impressive record by clinching all three points on Saturday.
