The former Man City man is looking to secure a late summer move after being deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
Although Sterling has been linked with Man United, Arsenal has emerged as the frontrunner to sign the 29-year-old in the closing stages of the transfer window.
It was previously reported that Arsenal were close to sealing a deal to make Sterling their fifth addition of the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are looking to finalise a deal to recruit the attacker on loan for the duration of the 2024-25 campaign.
Sterling arrives for medical
According to The Athletic, Sterling has now arrived at Arsenal's London Colney training to undergo a medical with the Gunners.
Sterling is seemingly on the brink of reuniting with Mikel Arteta after previously working with the Arsenal manager at Man City.
Arteta is a huge admirer of Sterling and the pair are believed to have a strong relation from their time at the Etihad Stadium.
Sterling is set to bolster Arsenal's wide options which currently include Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli.
While Sterling is nearing a move to the Gunners, Reiss Nelson could leave the club in a bid to gain regular game time elsewhere.
