The relegation survival specialist will be at Elland Road until the end of the campaign as he looks to keep Leeds in the Premier League.
But despite being out of a job for a while, Allardyce is very confident of saving Leeds, so much so, he compared himself to some of the top flight's finest managers.
"People think I'm old and antiquated. It's so far from the truth," Allardyce said in his first Leeds press conference.

"There is no one ahead of me in football terms - not Pep [Guardiola], not [Jurgen] Klopp, not [Mikel] Arteta.
"They do what they do, I do what I do. But in terms of depth of depth of knowledge, I am up there with them.
"I am not saying I am better than them, but I am as good as them."

Allardyce only has to wait three days until he can put his claim about being on par with Guardiola to the test, with Leeds travelling to Manchester City on Saturday.
The 68-year-old has a big task on his hands, with his new club currently languishing in 17th, with goal difference keeping them out of the relegation zone.
Following the match at the Etihad, Leeds then face Newcastle, West Ham and Tottenham as they fight for their Premier League lives to avoid a dreaded return to the Championship.
