During his time at Old Trafford, Mejbri has displayed promising signs both in the academy and in the senior side but has struggled to secure a consistent place in the club's starting lineup.
The 21-year-old was on the radar of Everton during the winter transfer window but was sent on a six-month loan to La Liga outfit Sevilla in January instead.
However, since joining Sevilla, Mejbri has only featured in three matches across all competitions, accumulating a mere 38 minutes of playing time.
Now, according to a report from Football Insider, it appears that the 21-year-old's time at Old Trafford might be coming to an end.
The report suggests that The Red Devils would be willing to consider a permanent offer for the Tunisia international as part of their expected squad clear-out under the direction of Sirs Jim Ratcliffe and Dave Brailsford.
However, it is understood that Sevilla have made a quick decision, determining after just one month that Mejbri is not the right fit for them.
As a result, unless there is a significant turnaround in his performance in the coming months, Sevilla will not exercise their £15m option to buy him.
Other players who could potentially leave Old Trafford on a permanent basis at the end of the season include Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek, who are currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt, respectively.
Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans will both be available on a free transfer at the end of the season, and the futures of Anthony Martial, Antony and Casemiro are still questionable.
Mjebri is believed to have been deemed as "surplus to requirements" and could be added to the list of potential departures in the summer.
The Tunisian international joined Man United from Ligue 1 outfit Monaco as a 16-year-old for a fee in the region of £9.3m and made his debut for the club on the final day of the 2020-21 season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
This season, he made 10 appearances in all competitions for Erik ten Hag's side in the first half of the campaign and scored one goal in their 3-1 league defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion back in September.
