The 17-year-old could be in line for a reunion with former head coach Ruben Amorim, who assumed control of the Red Devils from Ruud van Nistelrooy earlier this month.
Amorim took charge of his first Man United match on Sunday afternoon, when the 20-time English champions shared the spoils with Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
A second-minute strike from Marcus Rashford handed Amorim the perfect start to his managerial exploits in England, however Omari Hutchinson pulled one back from the Tractor Boys to force a split of the points.
Ahead of a Europa League clash with Bodo/Glimt on Thursday night in Manchester, the Red Devils are languishing down in 12th place in the Premier League standings, six points behind Arsenal in fourth.
Man United 'preparing £50m bid' for Sporting star Quenda
According to Portuguese outlet A Bola via Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are quickly advancing in their pursuit of Quenda in 2025.
The report claims that the Red Devils have already made an initial approach to Sporting Lisbon for the 17-year-old in October, before the arrival of Amorim to Old Trafford.
It was previously expected that Man United would make a move for Quenda next summer, however the timeline of the attacker's acquisition may have shifted forward following recent developments.
Amorim's men are allegedly ready to submit a £50m offer for the services of the youngster, who received his maiden call-up for Portugal's senior side in September.
However, with a £83.5m release clause supposedly in Quenda's current deal at Estadio Jose Alvalade, it is unlikely that Man United will be successful with their first bid for the player.
Quenda's career to date
Impressing for the club's B team in the third tier of Portuguese football last season, Quenda has featured prominently for Sporting Lisbon at senior level so far in 2024-25.
Quenda, who made his Champions League debut in September, started as a right-sided wing-back for Amorim's side in their 2-0 success over French outfit Lille.
The wing-backs of Amorim's 3-4-3 formation are evidently key cogs in the system, and the 39-year-old may feel that Amad Diallo is not a long-term solution in the role, regardless of the Ivorian's undeniable attacking threat.
