Liverpool sweating on Conor Bradley scan amid fears of lengthy injury lay-off

Bradley was lauded for his display in thwarting Kylian Mbappe in Wednesday's 2-0 victory over Real Madrid at Anfield.

But in what could be a cruel and untimely blow, there are concerns the Reds academy graduate will now be sidelined for a month.

Bradley, who was substituted in the 87th minute against Madrid, has been deputising for Trent Alexander-Aronld in the wake of a hamstring issue.

Centre-back Ibrahima Konate was also forced off with an injury in the Champions League clash.

Alexander-Arnold was deemed fit enough only for a place on the bench against the La Liga giants and now could be in line to start against Manchester City on Sunday.

Bradley repaid Slot's faith in him with a superb display against the reigning European champions.

The 21-year-old was widely recognised as Liverpool's best player on the night before coming off late after picking up the injury.

His display was typified by an all-action tackle on Mbappe as the Frenchman raced through on goal in the first half.

It set the tone for the Real Madrid star who struggled to get the best of Bradley and who later went on to see his penalty saved by Caoimhin Kelleher.

Bradley's mature performance was lauded by Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry at full time.

"That (tackle) for me, already did set the tone," Henry said on CBS Sports. "Boom! That's it. When you go into someone like that at the beginning of the game, you're going to struggle.

"We see him making that run (forwards), every time - he fancied it. You could see, he fancied himself against Mbappe. Everything he did was spot on. We were waiting for [Mohamed] Salah, we were waiting for Mbappe, but we saw Conor Bradley, so fair play to him."

He continued: "Conor Bradley was just outstanding. I think he didn't have to do a lot defensively because Mbappe didn't do a lot offensively. So, it became very easy."

The Reds defender has made 12 appearances this season across all competitions, cementing his place as a key component of Slot's squad.

Bradley was handed his Liverpool debut by Jurgen Klopp in an EFL Cup tie against Norwich in 2021.

After a season-long loan spell at Bolton, Bradley was handed his full league debut against Bournemouth in January 2024, recording an assist for Diogo Jota in a 4-1 victory.
