Lampard, the former Chelsea and Derby manager, is expected to be appointed as the new Canaries boss imminently.
Daniel Farke left Norwich bottom of the Premier League with five points after 11 games, although the former boss did secure their first win of the campaign at Brentford, just hours before being sacked.
They remain bottom of the table, but despite being written off by many as relegation fodder, Norwich are only five points from safety with plenty of time to salvage their season.
Lampard also arrives with plenty to prove, after lasting less than two years in the Chelsea job.
In fact, the Blues' recent 7-0 victory over Norwich would've shown Lampard both the potential he failed to fully unlock at Stamford Bridge, and also how much work he has to do at Carrow Road.
However, former England teammate Wilshere has talked up Lampard's managerial quality and insists Norwich are appointing someone with the right attitude.
Ex-Arsenal star Wilshere told talkSPORT: "Norwich is a good club. OK, they might be going down, but he's obviously prepared to try and build something there.
"He won't be going into that job thinking, 'We'll be in the Championship next year'. He's not that type of character.
"He's a good manager as well. Look what he did at Derby."
Asked if he can keep them up, Wilshere said: "I think he can."
