The Athletic are reporting that Maguire picked up an injury during the Red Devils' 3-1 win over Burnley.
He joins Eric Bailly on the treatment table, with the Ivorian also coming off with a knock in the win last week.
This leaves Ralf Rangnick short of options at centre-back, with Victor Lindelof still recovering from COVID-19, so he could turn to Jones, who hasn't played a Premier League game in nearly two years.
That was a 2-0 defeat to Burnley, where he started at centre-back with Maguire and had the likes of Brandon Williams, Andreas Pereira, and Dan James as his teammates.
Things have changed at Old Trafford since then and Jones, if he starts, will now be playing alongside the likes of Raphael Varane, Edinson Cavani, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Man United legend Sir Alex Ferguson once said that Jones 'could be our best ever player', but the 29-year-old has failed to live up to the hype.
A long-term knee injury made him consider ending his career after it took him out of action for almost two of the 10 years he's been at the club.
The former England international has recently regained his fitness though and has regularly featured for United's Under-23s side.
But Jones could now be set to return to first-team action against Wolves, as he looks to reignite his Red Devils career.
