Inter are desperate to get rid of Alexis Sanchez and the 7 million euros net (9.17m euros with the Decreto Crescita) the Chilean earns.
The Serie A side, who recently reached a deal with Arturo Vidal to terminate his contract, have tried the same approach with Sanchez. However, the forward turned down an offer of 4 million euros.
As reported by Calciomercato.com, Inter are keen to move on from Sanchez after recently signing Romelu Lukaku.
With the Belgian now in the mix alongside Lautaro Martinez, Joaquin Correa and Edin Dzeko, there is no room for Sanchez.
The team also can't make a final push for Paulo Dybala as long as the Chilean, and Dzeko, remain at the side.
Sanchez's diminishing importance at Inter was evident last season, as he only started in eight of the team's matches.
With just 1,346 minutes spread across 34 matches, which yielded nine goals and five assists, it appears Simone Inzaghi is ready to move on.
Although Sanchez recently arrived at Inter's headquarters to begin pre-season straining, his future is still up in the air.
"The 33-year-old Chilean still feels like he can compete at the highest level," wrote the Italian publication.
"That's why, for the moment, he hasn't opened up to the possibility of going to South America and has rejected moves to Villarreal, Marseille and Galatasaray."
Alexis has two paths available to him: stay at Inter and fight for a place, however difficult that may be, or find a club that will make him a focal point.
Given the teams he has rejected thus far, it appears playing in the Champions League isn't enough for him.
Meanwhile, Inter director Giuseppe Marotta will continue to try and rid the Nerazzurri of Sanchez's salary, which is second only to Lukaku (who earns 8 million euros).
