While the international break has been an opportunity for some sides to regroup ahead of the next batch of Premier League fixtures, spare a thought for Tottenham.

The London club are in the midst of a potential selection crisis ahead of their trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

With the majority of the squad jetting off for international duty, Spurs have been rocked by potential issues with up to SEVEN senior players over the past 10 days.

The bizarre scenario regarding Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso has been well-documented and they have both been ruled out after travelling to Brazil.

But there are also injury concerns surrounding Son Heung-Min, Ryan Sessegnon, Oliver Skipp and Steven Bergwijn, while defender Davinson Sanchez is self-isolating.

The match was abandoned as the Premier League stars were accused of breaking Brazil's strict Covid protocols.

It is understood the pair are set to be fined after travelling to Brazil and linking up with the Argentina national team without permission.

They will join Sanchez on the sidelines ahead of the London derby with Palace and Saturday - and more look set to join them in missing the game.

Son sat out South Korea's World Cup qualifying win over Lebanon on Tuesday night with a calf concern.

Spurs will be hoping that his issue is a minor one after his impressive start to the season.

"Heung-min felt uncomfortable in his right calf after training on the 6th [of September], and as a result of the test, he was excluded in order to protect the player," the KFA said in a statement.

It's still too early to assess the severity of his issue, but the winger was seen sitting on the bench icing his ankle, which was also heavily strapped.

Despite the turmoil off the pitch over the past 10 days, it's been pretty good going for Spurs so far on it.

Nuno has enjoyed a perfect league start to his Tottenham career, sitting top of the Premier League table with three wins from three.

Even at this early stage, that's a scenario few would have predicted after the transfer turmoil surrounding Harry Kane.

However, these setbacks over the international break have the potential to give Nuno a headache when domestic action returns this weekend.

He'll certainly be watching England's clash with Poland on Wednesday night with baited breath with Kane set to feature.
