Hulk's anti-doping nightmare: He couldn't urinate and lost six kilos in weight

He lost six kilos during an Atletico Mineiro game

Atletico Mineiro lost 2-0 in a Copa do Brasil game against Flamengo with Brazilian forward Hulk struggling due to dehydration for several hours.

The former Porto star revealed that he lost half a dozen kilos during the match and discussed his struggles during the anti-doping control after the game.

"Since I arrived at Atletico Mineiro, that was the game in which I was most dehydrated," said Hulk.

"Today I lost six kilos. It was exhausting. I was tired. I started the match [weighing] 97 kilos and finished it [weighting] 91.

"I fell down in the anti-doping. I was there for four hours. I drank 30 litres of water. But I was having trouble urinating. In the end it worked and now I just want to get home."

Hulk left the stadium at almost 04:00, missed the flight that was taking his team to Belo Horizonte and had to return on a private jet.
