Honduras derby match suspended after fans clash

Disgraceful events took place during the biggest derby match in Honduras, as a pitch invasion marred the clash between Real Espana and Marathon.

The scenes began midway through the first half when a certain section of the Marathon supporters gained access to a forbidden area of the stadium.

At first they went unnoticed but, when the home fans noticed them, that's when the clashes began and chaos ensued.

As violence took place in the stands, scared supporters took to the field for refuge.

The match was eventually suspended, and both clubs later came out to publicly condemn the horrific scenes.
