Antonio Conte's fifth-placed side now find themselves four points adrift of the Gunners with three games left to play and could be consigned to a season without Champions League football here.
Defeat for the Lilywhites coupled with a Chelsea win over Leeds United would confirm their fifth-placed finish, but they have quite the weapon in North London derby record goalscorer Harry Kane in their ranks.
Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at Kane's record in the derby ahead of Thursday's crunch battle.
After making the bench for Leyton Orient during their memorable 1-1 draw with Arsenal in the 2010-11 FA Cup, Kane's debut against Arsenal in the 2014-15 season was the stuff of dreams for the Tottenham talisman.
Kane came up with two goals - including an 86th-minute header - to propel Spurs to a 2-1 win at White Hart Lane and would then proceed to score in all four Premier League North London derbies in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons, suffering zero defeats in the process.
Kane's first league blank against Arsenal came in a 2-0 defeat at the Emirates in November 2017, but he soon returned to his old ways by heading in the only goal of the game at Wembley later that season.
The England skipper would also net in each of Spurs' 2018-19 clashes with Arsenal - a 4-2 Emirates loss and 1-1 home draw - before confidently converting a penalty in a 2-2 draw in September 2019.
While under Jose Mourinho's tutelage, Kane and Son Heung-min scored one and set up one each in a 2-0 North London win with a few fans present in December 2020, but Arsenal would get revenge in a 2-1 Emirates win later that year.
Kane also endured a dismal afternoon as Mikel Arteta's side won 3-1 earlier this season, and the 28-year-old has also faced Arsenal twice in EFL Cup action, registering one assist in the process.
In total, Kane has racked up a staggering 11 goals and three assists in 16 North London derbies in all tournaments, with all of those goals coming in 14 Premier League appearances.
Only against Leicester City (19) and Everton (14) has Kane scored more goals against than Arsenal, with his 11 strikes putting him one clear of Emmanuel Adebayor as the top scorer in North London derbies.
While Kane has failed to net in his last two Premier League games with Arsenal, he has never gone three in a row without scoring against them and has all the motivation he needs to haunt the Lilywhites' bitter rivals once again.
