Griezmann signs forgotten Liverpool star on Football Manager in Blackburn save

The 32-year-old is currently starring at Atletico Madrid, where he is closing in on becoming their all-time top scorer.

Griezmann is a huge fan of Football Manager - famously signing Kylian Mbappe when in charge of Newcastle prior to their Saudi takeover.

And despite fighting for domestic and European glory under Diego Simeone, he is hopeful of gaining promotion to the Premier League, with Blackburn this time around.

He has since drafted in Liverpool defender Calvin Ramsey - on loan at Preston - to help with his promotion push.

In a recent interview, the forward revealed how his current save on Football Manager is going.

"I'm in the First Division (Championship), in sixth place. The board are very happy. They want to renew my contract," he told ESPN.

The France international then declared he signed Reds full-back Ramsay, but forgot his name.

He stated: "A young right-back who was at Liverpool. He's Scottish, but I can't remember the name!"

Ramsey joined the Reds in a £6.5million deal from Aberdeen in the summer of 2022, but has been blighted by injuries.

He made just two appearances under Jurgen Klopp last season, with the player shipped out to gain invaluable first-team football.

The 20-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at Deepdale as he aims to break into the Liverpool team for the 2024-25 campaign.

A knee injury has restricted him to just two appearances for Preston, but his boss, Ryan Lowe, has since claimed he is ready to make an impact.

Speaking ahead of this weekend's clash against Watford, he remarked: "Calvin [Ramsay] is back as well. He's trained with the group.

"He had a terrible, chesty cough and wasn't feeling great. But, he's had a couple of days back training with the group."
