Australian forward Jason Cummings says he was snubbed by Giroud after their World Cup tie, suggesting there was a language barrier.

However, Giroud has now provided his own response, and revealed that he in fact swapped his shirt with someone else.
"Hi Jackson Irvine, How is my English mate?", he said on Twitter, with a picture of the Aussie midfielder's shirt.
Cummings revealed that he also approached Kylian Mbappe for a shirt, but had the same result.

He recently told an Australian talk show about the amusing encounter with Giroud after their loss against the French.
"So when I was walking back to my changing room and I've seen Giroud and I'm walking, as handsome as ever, and I asked him, 'Giroud, please man, can I get your shirt man? I'm a big fan, can I get your shirt?'
"And he just walked past me, pretended he never spoke English! And he's been in the Premier League for 10 years! He just walked right past me!"

It's clear that Giroud had no intentions of being rude to his Aussie counterpart, with the 36-year-old eventually reaching the final.
And appears to have proved so by showing he had swapped shirts with Cummings' teammate Irvine.
Giroud scored four goals en route to their loss against Argentina, with two of them coming in the Australia match.

He started in the final, but was brought off before half-time alongside Ousmane Dembele after France went 2-0 down.
Fellow 'shirt-snubber' Mbappe was also part of the defeat, but he finished as the World Cup top scorer with eight goals thanks to his final hat-trick.
