Gerard Pique announced his retirement from football on Thursday evening, after 19 seasons (three with Manchester United, one with Real Zaragoza and 15 with his beloved Barcelona) and 34 titles.
Now, a new life awaits him, where he will be in charge of managing all the business affairs he has outside of football.
The former Spain international will now have more free time, in which he will be able to work some more on projects that weren't possible before.
These are Gerard Pique's four main business interests
Kosmos
One of the companies to which he will have to dedicate time will be Kosmos. Gerard Pique is the founder of the company and its current president.
He built this business hand in hand with Hiroshi Mikitani, creator of Rakuten in 2017, and is in charge of a multitude of business activities such as acquisition, administration and management of businesses related to the entertainment industry.
In addition, it owns the rights to the Davis Cup and has participated in the negotiations for the reform of the Supercopa de Espana.
FC Andorra
Although he is retiring from playing football, this does not mean that he will not continue to be linked to it.
Kosmos, his main business, acquired FC Andorra in 2018, a team that is currently in ninth place in the Spanish second division.
The defender owns 99 percent of the team's shares and for now, his influence has paid off in both investment and the organization's brand resurgence.
KOI
The Catalan is a lover of video games and a good friend of the king of streaming in Spain, Ibai Llanos.
That is why together they created the eSports team KOI, which competes in different eSports tournaments.
Currently, they compete in the League of Legends Super League and also compete in Teamfight Tactics and Valorant tournaments. They have also won a place in the LEC together with ROGUE.
Kerad Holding
Finally, Pique should keep an eye on his large real estate conglomerate Kerad Holding.
Founded in 2009, it is defined as a company in charge of "the acquisition, holding and administration of all kinds of transferable securities, shares or any other title or sign representing the credit rights of other companies or businesses".
