The Senegalese star spent five campaigns in the Premier League with Newcastle, netting 44 times, including a memorable strike against Chelsea in 2012.
Following his Magpies departure in 2016, he joined Shandong Taishan in Chinese Super League, before going on to have a spell in Turkey with Fenerbahce, Alanyaspor and Rizespor.
He now embarks on a new chapter in his career with Macclesfield, who started in the North West Counties Premier Division back in 2020.
