Evra dons Oasis wig and rewrites 'Don't look back in anger' as United legend trolls rivals

Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford saw United secure a late comeback in the derby, with the Red Devils snatching a 2-1 win.

Old Trafford erupted at full-time after a stunning result left them a point behind their neighbours, a position they could only dream of in previous seasons.

And among the fans overjoyed at the result was former left back Evra, who still adores the club he played for from 2006 to 2014.

Making the most of a first win against City in four games, the Frenchman videoed himself in his car with a classic United shirt and an Oasis wig, with the Gallagher brothers huge fans of the defeated team.

He could then be heard rewriting the lyrics to their hit 'Don't Look Back In Anger'.

"You ain't ever gonna shut my mouth

So City can wait

They know it's too late are we're back on fire

They're souls slide away

But don't look back in anger

I heard you say."

Evra could barely contain his joy as he grinned throughout, while Liam Gallagher, who's often very vocal on social media on matchday, is yet to comment.

The former left-back has poked fun at the ex-Oasis frontman and his brother Noel before, mocking them with 'Wonderwall' after City lost the 2021 Champions League final to Chelsea.

"Liam, where are you?!" Evra said. "You remember when you were laughing at me when United lost? Now it is your turn.

"Don't be jealous, I just want to share. This is a special Monday for you Liam. Stop saying Manchester is blue, I have more trophies than your entire club! Noel, Noel!"

Evra and Liam had shared a brief exchange over social media in October 2020.

The former United star predicted that City will 'never' win the Champions League.

Liam posted a tweet that read 'Patrice Evra c'mon you know', which then prompted the funny reply from the footballer, who did admit to 'respecting' his music, and signed off the tweet 'As you were, PE'.

Evra was far from the only United legend and fan overjoyed with the result, with his former teammates Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes looking absolutely delighted in the BT Sport studio.

Ferdinand even managed to get out of the media box to film the Old Trafford crowd, and Tweeted: "I LOVE THIS CLUB MAN."
