Nunez was the name on everybody's lips on Monday night as the Uruguayan had another stinker as the Reds suffered a 3-1 defeat away to Brentford.

Opinion about Nunez remains split since his club-record £85million transfer to Anfield in the summer, and his performance against the Bees will have done him no favours.
From watching him play, it's clear Nunez has everything you could want from a top class striker - pace, strength, height, good movement - everything apart from the finish.
While never far from action and a willing worker for the team, Nunez was bought by Liverpool to score goals and that's exactly the department letting him down.

The 23-year-old's name was trending on social media all Monday night, beginning from when he missed an absolute sitter inside ten minutes at the Brentford Community Stadium - and Domino's were quick to join the pile-on.
Guilty of a shocking miss in Liverpool's lucky victory over Leicester - earned by two own-goals - Nunez was at it again against Brentford as he rounded the goalkeeper but, with the goal at his mercy, fired the ball straight at Ben Mee who had rushed back to defend.
The football stat accounts did not make for good reading for the frontman on Monday night, with it pointed out Nunez has missed more big chances than any other player in the Premier League this season - 15.

He also attempted the most shots in his first five away games in the Premier League - 23 - but has converted just two of them, with a 9 per cent conversion rate.

Nunez later thought he had redeemed himself with a good finish to make it 2-1, only for his strike to be ruled out for offside.
He just cannot catch a break right now.
However, he still has the backing of Jurgen Klopp, who has compared him to Robert Lewandowski, while others are still comparing him to Andy Carroll.
Only time will tell which comparison proves more accurate.

"There are a lot of similarities [between Nunez and Lewandowsk], to be honest," Klopp said in a recent interview, talking about his former Borussia Dortmund striker who only managed eight goals in his debut season for the German club.
"Yes, I think Lewi would tell the same story. We had shooting sessions where he didn't finish off one.
"We had bets all the time for €10 where I said, 'If you score more than 10 times I will pay you €10 and if you don't you have to pay me'. My pocket was full of money.

"When I started playing Lewandowski the journalists asked me why [Lucas] Barrios was not playing - he had scored 16 goals that season and was the No.9 in our team.
"It's all about staying calm. When you see the potential, stay calm. And I think we all agree that the potential [with Nunez] is so obvious.
"Is everything right? No… but it is all coming. You do it like this, the next time you do it like that. I had this situation with Lewi but it is not only Lewi. He is the obvious comparison. The team is completely convinced and that's really cool."

Many Liverpool fans have also defended their new frontman by pointing out that even Luis Suarez had fewer goals [eight] from his first 21 Liverpool appearances than Nunez.
So perhaps we're judging too early.
