In the midst of the heatwave that is shaking Spain, Levante and Wolves decided to turn up the heat even more on Thursday morning.
The pre-season friendly in Alicante kicked off at 10:30 local time, but 44 minutes later, the referee sent off four players after a brawl took place.
Tempers started to flare with a tackle in the centre circle which caused the first clash to kick off.
Substitutes and assistants ran towards the middle of the pitch in a brawl that ended with Bardhi, Rober Pier and two players from the English side being sent off.
The referee, in fact, called an end to the first half with a minute to go, and ended up berating both teams.
Half-time calm-down
After things calmed down, the two coaches asked the referee to give the option to start the second half in an 11 versus 11 so they could really take advantage of the friendly, and promised to calm things down.
The second half ended without further incident and with Levante winning 2-1.
