And while the Gunners' official unveiling fell a bit flat, some famous faces - including Laura Woods and Stormzy - featured in another, much slicker, video that did the club-record signing some justice.
Heavy with Arsenal branding, the video on social media sees talkSPORT alumni Woodsy back behind the radio mic again, as a host of well known figures are seen speculating about Rice's Emirates Stadium arrival.
Gunners goalkeeper and England teammate Aaron Ramsdale is seen on a golf course asking when his 'brother' is joining him at the club.
Eddie Nketiah then tells the midfielder, 'My mum's got some Jollof waiting', in a nod back to them sharing the African dish together during their time in the Chelsea academy.
Arsenal Women's statement summer signing, Lionesses star Alessia Russo, then asks: "This is my new home, you going to make it yours too?"

Declan Rice pours heart out to West Ham fans in open letter ahead of Arsenal transfer
British grime superstar Stormzy - and massive Manchester United fan - is then heard sending a voice memo to the 24-year-old: "Bro, please don't tell me you're going to Arsenal!"
But Gunners legend Ian Wright has the final word, telling Rice that north London 'is the place to be', before the man himself then appears on screen.
Decked head-to-toe in his new Arsenal kit, with his familiar No.41 on his back, West Ham fans probably won't be thrilled to hear their former captain saying: "Yes, Gunners, north London is home now."
The impressively produced video had some fans speculating that was why the announcement took so long.

The deal was finally announced on Saturday, over a week after it was reported Rice had actually signed his new contract as an Arsenal player.
But after a long build-up, the club's official announcement was more humble and low-key than many expected.
Arsenal directed fans to their YouTube page for 1pm and then broadcast live from the team meeting room as players filed in, took their seats and Mikel Arteta paced in front of them.
A hush came over the room as Arteta greeted the entire squad, before welcoming a new addition to their 'family'. The camera then panned to the back row where Rice was set next to Ramsdale.
The England man then said a few words to his new teammates, before £40m signing Jurrien Timber was then welcomed and given the chance to say a few words of his own.
The feed then abruptly cut, with the whole video only a few minutes long.
But this viral clip, seemingly put together by kit suppliers Adidas, was a better reflection of the hype surrounding the deal as Gunners fans are finally able to celebrate.
