The 61-year-old has been out of employment since leaving his post as the manager of West Ham United at the conclusion of the 2023-24 campaign.
Moyes managed a brilliant feat with the East London Hammers, guiding them to a historic European success in the Europa Conference League during the 2022-23 term.
The Scotsman managed West Ham on two separate occasions, most recently between December 2019 and June 2024, possessing a win percentage of 45%.
Moyes spent 11 steady years at Goodison Park with Everton before succeeding the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford to take the reins of Manchester United.
Four Premier League clubs eyeing Moyes?
According to talkSPORT, former Manchester United boss Moyes is looking for a return to management in the near future following six months out of the game.
The report claims that the 61-year-old believes that he still has plenty to offer at the top level of football coaching in England and on the continental scene.
It is understood that Moyes's next destination will most likely be in the Premier League, allowing him to add to his list of achievements in the division.
Southampton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City and Crystal Palace are supposedly the sides keeping tabs on the situation of the Scotsman.
All of those teams are currently at risk of a bottom-three finish, meaning that Moyes would be arriving to fight in a relegation battle.
Who needs Moyes the most?
Rooted to the bottom of the table, Southampton have refused to budge from their possession-based style under Russell Martin and have been punished severely at times.
Moyes would no doubt bring plenty of pragmatism to the South Coast, where the Saints are looking to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.
Losing the backing of a section of fans in recent weeks, Gary O'Neil's position at Wolves is under serious threat as the winter months approach.
