Cristiano Ronaldo says he turned down multiple offers from Europe and across the world during his unveiling as an Al-Nassr player.

The 37-year-old's switch to the Saudi Arabian side was announced at the end of December after he had his contract terminated by Manchester United.

It is understood that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner will earn a whopping £177million-a-year after agreeing a contract until 2025.

Ronaldo was all smiles during his medical as he took to social media to document his first day in the Middle East.

And his delight was there for all to see during his presentation at a sold out Mrsool Park as fans flocked to get a glimpse of their new hero.

Dressed for the part in a stylish grey suit, Ronaldo walked through the stadium's halls accompanied by club president Musalli Al-Muammar.

Instead of making his way to the pitch, Ronaldo took part in a press conference to the world's media to address why he swapped Europe for Asia.

He said: "I'm so proud to make this decision in my life and football.

"For me it's a new challenge I'm glad Al-Nassr gave me this new opportunity.

"The welcome yesterday was amazing for me and my family and I'm already proud.

"When I take my decisions, my family always support me, especially my kids."

Ronaldo added: "I want to change the mentality of the new generation.

"I am so proud at making this big decision in my life and my career. My work in Europe is done. I played for all the most important clubs.

"I had many opportunities in Europe. Many clubs in Brazil, Australia, in the US and even Portugal.

"For me this is a good chance with my knowledge and experience to grow very important clubs.

"I want to help many different points and the Al-Nassr's woman's team. I want to change the perspective of many people."

Ronaldo also said he wishes to make his debut on Thursday in the league match against Al-Ta'ee - if boss Rudi Garcia allows it.

He continued: "It's not easy to win any games today. The evolution of football is different and this isn't the end of my career by moving to the Middle East.

"For me, I'm really happy to be here and I know the league is competitive. I've watched many games. I hope to play after tomorrow if the coach gives me the chance.

"I want to beat a few records here and it's a good chance to move here. I've done it in Europe so it's normal."

Following his press conference, Ronaldo changed into Al-Nassr's home kit where he greeted his new teammates, which includes ex-Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina and Cameroon striker Vincent Aboubakar.

In a passionate speak to the squad, he remarked: "I just want to say I feel very happy to be here.

"It's a big challenge for me to change from Europe to Asia but I know the group and it's fantastic.

"I'm here to help the team to win stuff, to enjoy and give my best."

Ronaldo then finally made his way onto the pitch as fans roared from the stands as they loudly cheered his name.

Addressing the supporters, he stated: ""What I expect to achieve is to make people happy, to enjoy myself, to help the country to be better, better and better.

The Manchester United legend was eventually joined on the pitch by his partner Georgina Rodriguez and his children.
