Brighton manager Graham Potter claims Liverpool fans "will respect" what his side achieved by recovering from a two-goal deficit to draw at Anfield.
The Seagulls fell behind to early goals from Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane, but Enock Mwepu gave them hope shortly before half-time and Leandro Trossard equalised in the second half.
The points could have gone either way, with both teams seeing goals ruled out during the back-and-forth Premier League encounter.
Brighton - who won on Merseyside last season - are continuing to make fine progress under Potter and the draw leaves them sixth in the table.
The 46-year-old hailed his side's performance as "amazing" and he insists Liverpool supporters will have appreciated their spirited display against a team who thrashed Manchester United 5-0 the previous weekend.

Graham Potter reflected on a hard-fought point at Anfield
Potter also highlighted the importance of Mane being denied his second of the match by VAR due to a handball infringement, keeping the scoreline 2-0 just after the half-hour mark.
"It looked like it was going to be a tough afternoon but credit to the players, they were amazing," said Potter at full-time.
"The disallowed goal gave us a chance to keep going, we were still alive. At 2-1 at half time rather than 3-0 was big. A fantastic game.
"The strength of their centre-backs is clear so we wanted to use Leandro up top with mobility.
"We were close to a third too. Just offside.
"It's different when there are 50,000 [fans] here and you have to deal with that. It's a point away at Anfield.
"We've got an incredible respect for Jurgen and Liverpool, what they have achieved and Anfield is an amazing place. You have to enjoy playing here. They had just won 5-0 and were full of belief.
"Liverpool fans are very knowledgeable and they will respect what we did today."

Potter also spoke of his pride at keeping Mohamed Salah at bay, preventing the Egyptian superstar from scoring in his eighth consecutive Premier League game.
"You have to play well and defend," said Potter when asked how to cope with the Liverpool talisman. "Marc Cucurella was excellent against him. Salah is in an incredible moment of form.
"We struggled to put pressure on them at times. They have players who can rip you apart in a second. A collective effort."
Brighton host Newcastle United next Saturday, while Liverpool are in Champions League action against Atletico Madrid in midweek.
