The BVB logo will return to Dortmund's 'cup' home shirt when they take on Sporting CP in the Champions League, after it caused an upset in a group opener against Besiktas.
Puma released the badgeless design for a number of club's third kits, including the likes of Manchester City, AC Milan and Valencia as well as Dortmund.
Many fans have been deeply unhappy with the shirts which only display club names, and it's even caused confusion among players.
Fenerbahce's Muhammed Gumuskaya reeled off to celebrate a goal in the Europa Conference League in August, and as he went to kiss the badge on his shirt, he quickly realised there wasn't one there.
Dortmund uniquely use their third strip as a 'cup' home kit, wearing it as an alternative to their yellow home set up in European and domestic knock out matches.
But fans were far from happy when the shirt debuted in the Jude Bellingham-inspired win against Besiktas to open the team's Champions League campaign.
The original shirt only featured faint watermarks as a background, much like the other Puma designs, but alterations were already made for the group stage opener.
A 'transparent' logo was imprinted on the design, but fans still were unhappy, voicing their displeasure with banners at the Signal Iduna Park.
"The cup kit must go!" read a sign in the Yellow Wall, and the club have since listened, reintroducing the black outlines of the badge.
UEFA have now granted Dortmund's request to edit their kit, despite changes not being allowed during a campaign.
