BT Sport were forced to apologise for a loss of power after their post-match coverage of Fulham's win over Chelsea was interrupted on Thursday night.
Jake Humphrey, Gary Cahill, Peter Crouch and Joe Cole were busy digesting Fulham's impressive 2-1 victory against their west London rivals when the coverage cut away to adverts. Viewers were left watching endless BT Sport adverts on repeat along with the a message saying, "Apologies for the loss of pictures from Craven Cottage".
Eventually, the pictures were restored. "Welcome back to Craven Cottage, it wasn't the plan for us to go onto an ad break for quite that long," Humphrey said.
"All we know is that we lost all the power and we turned around and Peter Crouch was holding a plug."
Crouch said: "I thought it was the phone charger."
Humphrey added: "No, what really happened was there was a generator that lost power and it meant that we were unable to broadcast to you - this doesn't normally happen, I promise."
"I believe you," Cahill replied. While looking at the former Chelsea defender, Humphrey joked: "There's an unlucky charm somewhere in the room."
After restoring power, BT Sport were able to conduct their post-match interviews with both managers, Fulham's Marco Silva and Chelsea's Graham Potter. That did cause a delay in the written press' time with the managers, with the broadcast able to go first contractually.
The drama followed an impressive victory for Fulham, who have now won their past four Premier League matches. They took the lead through former Chelsea winger Willian, who fired into the bottom corner, via a deflection off Trevoh Chalobah.
Chelsea equalised through Kalidou Koulibaly from a set piece, but debutant Joao Felix was sent off for a horror challenge on Kenny Tete to hinder the Blues' chances.
Fulham took full advantage, with Carlos Vinicius nodding in Andrea Pereira's cross to make it 2-1. Silva's side moved up to sixth, but Chelsea are 10th and have now won just one of their past nine Premier League matches.
