Arsenal loanee Trusty scores outrageous backheel flick for Birmingham against QPR

The central defender is on loan with Birmingham City where he faced Championship leaders Queens Park Rangers on Friday night, a match that the Blues won 2-0 at St Andrews.

While Trusty wasn't expected to get on the scoresheet, he did grab headlines with a wonderful backheel flick from inside the penalty area that looped over a crowded penalty area and QPR Seny Dieng into the far corner of the net.

This came following a corner from Manchester United loanee Hannibal who put in an all-action display as he showed a glimpse of the reason why he's so highly rated by those at Old Trafford.

Michael Beale's side couldn't believe what they witnessed, while the Birmingham City team jumped Trusty is they celebrated the most outrageous strike.

The 24-year-old completed his move to the north London club during the January transfer window after signing from Colorado Rapids.

Trusty spent the end of last season on loan with the MLS club, before heading to the Championship with the Blues where he has become a first team regular, making 18 appearances for the club.

While he's yet to make a first team appearance for the Gunners, strikes like this will do wonders for his reputation as he plots a long-term role in Mikel Arteta's plans.
