Calum Chambers appears to have finally got his wish as Arsenal have been transformed into a hard to beat, defensively sound outfit - though it has come at his expense.
Following a dramatic 3-2 home victory over Aston Villa in 2019, Chambers was scathing in his assessment of his own side's defensive display.
The Gunners, then led by Unai Emery, could consider themselves fortunate to come away from the contest with all three points having been 2-1 down for much of the game.
An equaliser from Chambers himself levelled things up before some late heroics from skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang swung the tie in Arsenal's favour.

However, Chambers was displeased with the manner in which his side secured the victory, bemoaning their defensive fragility as a squad after the game.
"We know as a team that we can't keep relying on Auba and that as a defensive unit we need to shut the door and be stronger at the back," Chambers explained.
"Obviously it helps when you have a striker like Auba but we're working every day in training on improving our defensive performance."
Tackling each of Chambers complaints individually, it is important to recognise Arsenal's reliance on Aubameyang has significantly decreased with the emergence of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe - neither of whom were first-team regulars at the time of this performance.
Addressing his claims around the Gunners defence - it is undeniable that the club's defensive performance has drastically improved two years down the line, though it has come at Chambers own detriment.
The 26-year-old has featured for Arsenal just twice in the Premier League this term, both of which ended in defeat away at Brentford and Man City respectively.
Vote: Who has been Arsenal's Player of the Season so far?
Of the 13 goals Arsenal have conceded this season in 11 games - Chambers has been on the pitch for seven of them, yet has only played 171 minutes of football.
The former Southampton defender has lost his place in Arsenal's back-line to summer signing Ben White, who has barely put a foot wrong since his shaky debut.
While Chambers may have hoped his ability to play right-back could have seen him still enjoy first-team football, the arrival of Takehiro Tomiyasu in that role has rendered his versatility somewhat redundant.

Where Chambers and Rob Holding once stood in the heart of Arsenal's defence, there is now White and Gabriel Magalhaes - a partnership that has already drawn more praise in just eight games together.
Since the former Brighton & Hove Albion defender has played next to last year's signing Gabriel, the duo boast more clean sheets than goals conceded, marking a drastic improvement in Arsenal's defending as a side.
It is unlikely manager Mikel Arteta will look to fix what is not broken anytime soon, ensuring that for as long as Arsenal are a healthy defensive unit, Chambers could be out of the picture.
