The pair have crossed paths on many occasions with one currently firing Liverpool to the top of the Premier League while the other is clambering for a move back to English football.
One is a 32-year-old Egyptian forward, the other a 61-year-old Portuguese coach.
One has black hair, the other has a head full of grey hair. You catch our drift.
Well clearly not everyone was aware that Mourinho is not Liverpool's fifth all-time record goalscorer if Tuesday night's episode of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here was anything to go by.
Everyone loves a cross television footy reference and even more so when you can impress your partner sitting next to you by screaming out the answer in 0.1245 seconds flat.

But for BBC Radio 1 presenter Dean McCullough, it became abundantly clear that he either needs to brush up on his basic football knowledge or ask Father Christmas for a copy of Guess Who? Or both.
McCullough left presenters Ant and Dec in floods of tears with his wayward answer during Tuesday's bush tucker trial.
The challenge was titled the Sinister Sarcophagus which saw him locked in a mummy figurine in hope of winning stars for his campmates.
After the petrified radio host was locked in the mummy, giant mealworms and crickets were poured onto his head.

He was then asked a host of Egypt-themed questions with a star up for grabs for each one answered correctly.
Sadly, he got just two questions right before prematurely ending the challenge by shouting: "I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here."
Visibly despondent by his failure to collect more stars for the campmates, McCullough was read a list of the questions he would have faced had he finished the challenge, with one relating to Liverpool star Salah.
Ant and Dec asked: "Name the footballer who is originally from Egypt and plays for Liverpool?"
The radio host initially appeared stumped before responding with his answer: "Jose Mourinho".
Newcastle fans Ant and Dec simultaneously burst into a fit of laughter, clearly not expecting to hear the name of the Fenerbahce head coach.
In fairness, McCullough took it in his stride and was a good sport even in the moments that followed his disastrous challenge.
The radio DJ now heads back to camp while Mourinho prepares his side for Saturday's trip to Kayserispor.
Meanwhile, thousands of miles away from Istanbul, Salah and his Liverpool teammates will gear up for Sunday's trip to Southampton.
