Robertson picked up an ankle injury with Scotland during the international break and subsequently missed Liverpool's 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend, while Jones has been sidelined since mid-February with a shin problem.
Both players are closing in on a return and could be involved on Thursday, but the Reds will be without Alisson Becker (hamstring), Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota, Joel Matip, Ben Doak (all knee), Thiago Alcantara (muscle) and Stefan Bajcetic (calf) due to injury.
Ibrahima Konate watched on as an unused substitute against Brighton, but the centre-back could be recalled against Sheffield United to play alongside Virgil van Dijk, meaning Jarell Quansah would make way.
Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez could retain their places at full-back, although the latter will presumably be replaced by Robertson if he is deemed fit to start.
Alexis Mac Allister, Wataru Endo and Dominik Szoboszlai are all in contention to start again in centre-midfield, although Ryan Gravenberch and Harvey Elliott will be looking to force their way back into the first XI.
Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz are the most likely trio to start up front, although Jurgen Klopp may consider freshening up his attack by recalling Cody Gakpo, who started against the Blades in the reverse fixture four months ago.
Liverpool possible starting lineup: Kelleher; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Gomez; Szoboszlai, Endo, Mac Allister; Salah, Gakpo, Diaz
