A lot of these signings have been made recently under the Todd Boehly regime and are yet to spring into life.
But Roman Abramovich wasn't afraid of splurging out either, with varying degrees of success.
But who are Chelsea's most expensive signings in their history?
10. Christian Pulisic - £57.4million
Pulisic joined the London giants in January 2019, but he didn't actually play for Chelsea until that following summer.
The American international arrived with a huge reputation and was one of the most exciting wingers in the world.

He made a good start to his career at Stamford Bridge, with a hat-trick against Burnley appearing to indicate Chelsea had signed a special player.
But several injuries plagued his time in west London, and he never quite achieved what he could have before joining AC Milan in the summer of 2023.
However, he left with a Champions League winners' medal and played a big role with two goal contributions in the semi-final against Real Madrid in that season.
9. Alvaro Morata - £60million
There aren't too many players on this list who endured tougher times in west London than Morata.

The Spaniard was signed to replace Diego Costa in Antonio Conte's title-winning team, but he only played a season-and-a-half with the Blues.
And by the time he left, the striker had scored 16 Premier League goals, failing to offer what Costa brought to Chelsea.
Since departing, the striker has played for Atletico Madrid and Juventus and enjoyed better success.
8. Marc Cucurella - £63million
Brighton have become one of Chelsea's favoured shopping destinations in recent years, and they shelled out a considerable fee to sign Cucurella in the summer of 2022.
The Spanish left-back was excellent for Brighton during the 2021/22 season and was wanted by a host of clubs.
Eventually, after a bit of a saga, the deal was announced, and Cucurella moved to Stamford Bridge.
His first year was a real struggle, with the Spaniard often looking totally lost.
But things are improving for Cucurella, and the fact he can play left-back and right-back means he's starting to get more game time.
7. Wesley Fofana - £70million
Fofana is Chelsea's most expensive defender in their history, but the young Frenchman is yet to show what he can do due to injury.
Since joining from Leicester in the summer of 2022, Fofana has suffered a serious knee injury and an ACL, limiting him to just 20 appearances for the Blues.
When he was at Leicester, Fofana was one of the best young defenders around.
Hopefully, once he's fit, he can finally show why Chelsea spent so much money on him.
6. Kepa Arrizabalaga - £72million
Arrizabalaga is the world's most expensive goalkeeper and will no doubt continue to be for some time.
He is still officially a Blues player after joining from Athletic Bilbao in 2018, but he's currently on loan at Real Madrid to cover for the injured Thibaut Courtois, who he was bought to replace at Stamford Bridge.
The Spaniard initially struggled badly in England and was replaced by Edouard Mendy as the first choice goalkeeper.
But he re-established himself as the number one during the 2022/23 campaign before leaving to join Los Blancos.
And if the Blues were to sell Arrizabalaga, it's hard to see how they would even come close to making their money back.
5. Kai Havertz - £75.8million
Havertz will always be remembered in Chelsea history as the man who scored the winning goal in the 2021/22 Champions League final against Manchester City.
There is no question the German is a talented and clever player, but he never really found a position while at Stamford Bridge.
He also had the tendency to go missing in certain games and just never lived up to his price tag, so the fact they got £65m for him from Arsenal is very good.
Ultimately, Havertz didn't quite work out at Chelsea, but after a tough start with the Gunners, he appears to be showing what he can do on the big stage.
4. Mykhailo Mudryk - £89million
Mudryk looked nailed on to be going to Arsenal in January 2023 after months of negotiations, but the Blues blew the Gunners out of the water with a huge bid.
The winger looked amazing on his debut against Liverpool but has flattered to deceive at times.
Mudryk sometimes produces moments of magic, and at others, it looks like he's never played professional football.
He's so raw and has a very long contract, so there is plenty of time for him to come good.
But there is every chance he ends up being an expensive flop.
3. Romelu Lukaku - £97.5million
When Chelsea re-signed Lukaku from Inter Milan, they believed they had signed an elite striker to help them win the Premier League.
The Belgian made a great start to life in west London, scoring on his debut against Arsenal and providing a focal point for the Blues' attacks.
But an infamous interview midway through the season and injuries to Reece James and Ben Chilwell derailed Lukaku's start, and he was shipped out on loan to Inter.
Chelsea tried to sell him in the summer of 2023 but couldn't, so he's now on loan at Roma under former Blues boss Jose Mourinho.
Lukaku's return to Stamford Bridge promised so much and has delivered so little.
2. Moises Caicedo - £100million
The eventual fee for Caicedo could take this deal beyond the current British record, but an extra £15m will only be paid in performance-related add-ons.
Caicedo also turned down a move to Liverpool to complete this transfer to Chelsea after a stellar year with Brighton.
The Ecuadorian midfielder was one of the league's best players in the 2022/23 campaign, but he's yet to find that form under Mauricio Pochettino.
Caicedo has had a few niggly injuries that can't have helped matters.
However, you would still expect more from Caicedo, and in time, he should prove to be an excellent signing.
1. Enzo Fernandez - £106.8million
As it stands, Fernandez is the most expensive player in Premier League history.
After an impressive World Cup and half season for Benfica, Chelsea decided to obliterate their transfer record to sign the Argentine midfielder.
However, after spending so much, you really would expect more from Fernandez.
