Saturday's Championship predictions including West Bromwich Albion vs. Millwall

Bournemouth vs. Barnsley (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Last season's two beaten Championship playoff semi-finalists go head to head on Saturday as Bournemouth host Barnsley.

The Cherries look better-placed to mount another promotion push this year and currently sit sixth in the table, while the Tykes are 14th.

We say: Bournemouth 3-1 Barnsley

With injured players returning and new signings bedding in, Bournemouth look set to only improve over the next few weeks. They have struggled for consistency under Parker so far, but we think they will take all three points against a Barnsley side still finding their feet under Schopp.

Blackburn vs. Luton (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Blackburn Rovers and Luton Town square off on Saturday afternoon looking to retain their positions in the top half of the Championship standings.

While Rovers hold a one-point and two-place advantage over the visitors, both sides have failed to prevail in their last two fixtures.

We say: Blackburn Rovers 2-1 Luton Town

This is a fixture between two evenly-matched sides who will recognise that games such as this one could prove to be the difference between a playoff chase and mid-table. While Luton impressed during the opening month, we are siding with Blackburn who may benefit from the arrival of several fresh faces.

Blackpool vs. Fulham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Fulham will look to strengthen their position at the top of the Championship standings when they face Blackpool at Bloomfield Road on Saturday afternoon.

Despite a couple of good results on the road, Blackpool are still searching for their first victory since promotion from the third tier.

We say: Blackpool 0-2 Fulham

With several players having been away on international duty, Fulham may not look as fresh as they did during August. Nevertheless, the Cottagers should have more than enough quality to negotiate the contest in the North-West.

Bristol City vs. Preston (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Bristol City and Preston North End meet at Ashton Gate on Saturday afternoon having both enjoyed an improved run of form in the Championship.

While the Robins head into this fixture on the back of two wins in three, Preston make the trip South having posted two victories in succession.

We say: Bristol City 1-1 Preston North End

Having gotten back on track before the international break, neither side will want to relinquish their momentum. With that in mind, we expect a hard-fought fixture, one which could end in a share of the spoils.

Coventry vs. Middlesbrough (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Coventry City head into their meeting with Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon looking to move into the top six of the Championship standings.

Having failed to win any of their last three fixtures, Middlesbrough make the trip to the Ricoh Arena sitting in 13th position in the table.

We say: Coventry City 2-1 Middlesbrough

With the pressure off after their strong start to the season, we expect Coventry to go all out for victory at the weekend. While Boro should put up some resistance, we still fancy the Sky Blues to edge this contest by the odd goal in three.

Reading vs. QPR (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Queens Park Rangers will be aiming to maintain their unbeaten start to the season when they travel to struggling Reading on Saturday.

Rangers are third in the Championship table with 11 points from five games, while the Royals are down in 21st with just three points.

We say: Reading 1-2 Queens Park Rangers

Reading will hope that a late flurry of signings help turn their fortunes around, but they may struggle to make an instant impact against an in-form QPR side. Rangers will be strong favourites for victory in Berkshire, particularly with their menacing attack coming up against the Royals' leaky defence.

Sheff Utd vs. Peterborough (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Sheffield United will continue to go in search of their first league win of the season when they host newly-promoted Peterborough United on Saturday.

The Blades have made a poor start to life back in the Championship after relegation from the Premier League and sit 23rd in the table, while the Posh are slightly better off in 19th.

We say: Sheffield United 1-0 Peterborough United

Slavisa Jokanovic will have used the international break to regroup and reset after a difficult start to the season and we think this will be the game where Sheffield United finally get their first league win of the campaign. Peterborough showed against West Brom that they will not be pushovers this season, but they could just lose out again.

Stoke vs. Huddersfield (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Two of the early pacesetters in the Championship go head to head on Saturday as Stoke City host Huddersfield Town.

After the opening five matches, the two sides sit fifth and fourth respectively on 10 points each, having both won three, drawn one and lost one.

We say: Stoke City 2-2 Huddersfield Town

This should be an entertaining game between two sides who have begun the season with plenty of promise. Stoke will be eager to bounce back from defeat while Huddersfield will want to continue building momentum, but we think it will end all square.

Swansea vs. Hull City (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Two sides who have accumulated just four points from their opening five Championship matches will lock horns on Saturday afternoon, when Swansea City welcome Hull City to the Liberty Stadium.

This will be the first league meeting between the two teams since February 2020, which saw an entertaining 4-4 draw played out at the KC Stadium.

We say: Swansea City 1-1 Hull City

Both Swansea and Hull have had difficult starts in the Championship so far and will be keen to turn their form around with a victory on Saturday.

However, with little to separate the two teams, they may have to settle for just a point at the Liberty Stadium.

West Brom vs. Millwall (Saturday, 3.00pm)

West Bromwich Albion welcome Millwall to The Hawthorns on Saturday, and the hosts will be aiming to continue their unbeaten league start, after winning four of their first five league games.

The Lions will know a tough game awaits them at the weekend, but the visitors will be buoyed by beating Blackpool before the international break, which was their first league win of the season.

We say: West Bromwich Albion 3-1 Millwall

West Brom have scored at least three goals in their first two home league games, and they could continue that run against Millwall.

The visitors always threaten going forward, but do have defensive vulnerabilities, which could be exploited by West Brom, so a flurry of goals can be expected in this fixture.
