Ralf Rangnick will double his salary to almost £8million-a-year after he was appointed Manchester United's interim manager.
The 63-year-old will take the reins at Old Trafford for six months, before heading into a consultancy role with the Red Devils, helping to select their next permanent boss.
And the acclaimed German coach, who leaves his role as Lokomotiv Moscow's sporting director, will be well rewarded for his work as he bids to turn the club around following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Daily Star report that Rangnick's £3.8m salary in Russia is set to be doubled by United, with his new employers not even paying Lokomotiv any compensation.

The Red Devils' technical director, John Murtough, has stated that the ex-Red Bull football supremo was the club's number one choice to replace Solskjaer.
"Ralf is one of the most respected coaches and innovators in European football," Murtough said upon the announcement.
"He was our number one candidate for interim manager, reflecting the invaluable leadership and technical skills he will bring from almost four decades of experience in management and coaching.
"Everyone at the club is looking forward to working with him during the season ahead, and then for a further two years in his advisory role."
Rangnick himself added: "I am excited to be joining Manchester United and focused on making this a successful season for the club.
"The squad is full of talent and has a great balance of youth and experience. All my efforts for the next six months will be on helping these players fulfil their potential, both individually and, most importantly, as a team.
"Beyond that, I look forward to supporting the club's longer-term goals on a consultancy basis."

Michael Carrick, who is expected to still be in charge as caretaker when the Red Devils welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford on Thursday in the Premier League, believes Rangnick, who is awaiting a work visa, can make an immediate impact.
"You can get ideas across pretty quickly," the temporary United boss explained ahead of his side's 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
"I think history shows that. Sometimes it's not just the ideas but just a different voice, maybe, or a freshness.
"History proves that, for whatever reason. Again, looking back at history, sometimes it works really well, sometimes not so well, that's just the nature of life."
