Private look at Arsenal's transfer plans as Edu's son shows his dedication

Edu's son Luigi Gaspar has given fans an insight into his father's dedication to strengthening Arsenal this summer.

The north London club have been active in the transfer market up until this point as boss Mikel Arteta and transfer chief Edu oversee a major rebuild after a disappointing season.

Arsenal recently completed the big-money signing of Ben White for £50million have been linked with Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez and Leicester's James Maddison who are both valued around the £60m mark.

And Luigi, who played for Arsenal U18s, has revealed he receives hundreds of messages every day on Instagram to convince his dad to sign players.

But he says Edu is always thinking about new signings, even when he's on holiday with his family.

He told Gooner Talk : "Roughly 100 direct messages on Instagram, each day, telling me to tell my dad to sign a player".

"I liked a tweet about [Eduardo] Camavinga recently and fans went crazy but just because I like a tweet doesn't mean they are joining Arsenal."

When asked if Arsenal would be signing Leicester City playmaker James Maddison this summer, he responded: "I don't know, I don't ask my dad this.

"My dad spends more time on the phone than he does with the family during a holiday."

Arteta has admitted that he is still trying to improve Arsenal's squad with less than a month of the window remaining.

The Gunners have spent more than £75m in bringing in their first three arrivals, but the Gunners boss is hopeful that there could yet be further reinforcements.

Speaking after their final pre-season friendly he said: "I don't know what will happen. Again I repeat myself. We train with the players we have available.

"We try to do the right things to improve the team in the areas that are needed. At the moment we came so far and there's still a window that is open."
